What are the differences between powdered milk and liquid milk? It is known that milk has been a basic food for all living organisms since the beginning of existence, and it is a major component in a large number of foods in different countries, whether in its raw form or one of its derivatives.

Therefore, knowing the benefits of milk for human health and for different age groups is a matter of interest to many, especially in our time with the spread of healthy diets and diets based on organic and natural food ingredients.

There are many types of milk and their components differ from one type to another. Many may think that milk is only two specific types, namely cow’s milk and mother’s milk, but in fact there are today a large number and different types of milk.

But in general, milk is a rich and natural food source, which includes a group of valuable nutrients that help the body and maintain human health

Powdered milk is an important commodity, because it is available in large quantities. Also, the taste of powdered milk is better than the taste of liquid milk for many people. But which one is better?

.

Comparison between powdered milk and liquid milk

To be able to choose between the two types, we have to compare them. Fresh milk is not exposed to high temperatures, so it preserves the vitamins in it. And since fresh milk is not subject to manufacturing processes, it preserves its original health benefits. But if you do not have fresh milk, you can use powdered milk powder, taking care to follow the ingredients that are on the packages of powdered milk. To make a good cup of milk, add 3 tablespoons of powdered milk to each cup of water, equal to one cup of fresh milk.

In terms of daily nutrition, there is not much difference between liquid milk or powdered milk, although there are very small differences in the content of vitamins, calcium and calories, but both types provide good nutritional value.

In terms of calories, a cup of skimmed milk powder contains 60 calories and 209 milligrams of calcium, while a cup of liquid milk contains 85 calories and 299 milligrams of calcium.

And the benefits of powdered milk are no different from the liquid type, as one cup of fresh skimmed milk or powdered milk contains 80 calories. Each contains 8 grams of protein, knowing that the daily recommendation for protein is 56 grams for a man and 46 grams for a woman.

A cup of milk, either fresh or powdered, contains between 28 and 30 percent of the body’s daily calcium needs.

In terms of vitamins, fresh milk contains slightly more vitamin B complex than powdered milk. The vitamin B complex group includes vitamins B5 and B12. These vitamins contribute to maintaining a healthy nervous system, and helps maintain the integrity of cell membranes. Vitamin B12 supports oxygen transport.

The body needs small amounts of these important vitamins daily: 5 mg of vitamin B5, and 2.4 micrograms of vitamin B12. A cup of fresh milk contains 0.9 mg of vitamin B5, and 1.2 mcg of vitamin B12. A cup of powdered milk contains 0.8 mg of vitamin B5 and 0.9 mcg of vitamin B12.

Both fresh milk and powdered milk provide an amount of phosphorus and selenium, and these two minerals play an important role in the function of enzymes that support metabolism.

Selenium is also involved in supporting thyroid function, while phosphorus contributes to maintaining the integrity of cell membranes.

Liquid milk and powdered milk have the same benefits

Whatever type of milk you choose, whether it is liquid or powdered, it is important to know that you will get the same benefits:

Reducing the acidity level in the body, and the calcium in milk helps in strengthening the bones and teeth.

Milk helps those who want to avoid gaining weight, because milk in this case can replace sugar and processed foods.

Milk makes the skin look smoother, fresher and healthier. It is also a rich source of minerals and vitamins that benefit the body daily.

Milk resists dehydration in the body because it contains water and can moisturise the body.
